Dr. Lisa Maturo is a Naturopathic Medical Doctor whose focus is on natural endocrinology (hormones), with a very strong emphasis on treating thyroid disease. She is considered a thyroid expert and has treated thousands of patients for over two decades in practice.
In her early years after medical school, Dr. Lisa Maturo worked and trained with a board certified endocrinologist with 30 years experience, learning all she could about hormones.
A few years later, Dr. Maturo became one of the few practitioners in Arizona certified in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy as taught and trained by Dr. Neal Rouzier, MD, a world reknown hormone balancing expert. This included over 200 hours of classes and training with Dr Rouzier in the optimization of hormones and thyroid. After finishing the 4 part training series Dr Maturo earned certification in BHRT via Worldlink Medical. Dr. Maturo is also a selected referral physician with Forever Health Network, a directory of hormone balancing experts promoted by Suzanne Somers.
What happens in the the first visit with Dr. Lisa Maturo?
Your first visit is spent going over your health history, reviewing any labs you may have from past year, and of course talking about where you are right now with your health concerns. Our first session is a time to get to know each other and to plan out our next steps for testing and developing a treatment plan. Any necessary testing will be ordered and lab review/test results along with your treatment plan will be discussed in detail at your next follow up appointment.
We will discuss an indepth treatment plan and set our goals for working together. Labwork can be be put through your health insurance and covered according to your plan. Some health insurance plans do reimburse for office visits when submitted with coded receipts. You may also use your HSA cards for office visit coverage. We can help you with that process and provide all the necessary coding and paperwork. If you do not have insurance we can help you with options for affordable cash pay labs in our area.
