Estrogen and Its Important Role In Your Body

We are reading a lot about estrogen in the news lately as some studies believe low estrogen is the basis of anxiety disorders. If you are low on estrogen, you might be wondering if you need it and what it does.

Estrogen has a number of functions and this only includes the ones we know about. It balances out your cholesterol, specifically your HDL and LDL levels. It also helps maintain calcium in the bone and preserves the blood vessels youthfulness keeping everything stretchy. The blood vessel thing is a good thing as it keeps deadly plaque from building up.

Running low on estrogen doesn’t just happen to women in menopause. Women who have undergone full or partial hysterectomies will see their levels crash. Women’s levels naturally decreases as she ages – which is only mid-to late- forties. You may or may not experience indications that your estrogen is low, this is why it is important to have a doctor check your hormones through blood screening.

Symptoms of low estrogen include: hot flashes, insomnia, weight gain, dry skin, and poor concentration. While women have always marked these signs as ‘part of aging’, it doesn’t need to be this way. Taking bioidentical estrogen supplements to boost your low levels not only helps eliminate symptoms, it also adds value to your health. Yes, adds value.  As mentioned, estrogen is good for your cholesterol, heart, and veins. It also helps balance your mood and increases your sense of well-being.
